When should I create a customer account?
Especially if you fly frequently or want to make a regular contribution to climate action, the customer account saves you the hassle of entering your customer data anew for each booking. You can store this information in your customer account. Of course, within the profile, you also have the option to select different payment methods.
Another advantage: You have direct access and overview of receipts, certificates, and donation receipts, including those from past bookings.
How can I create a customer account?
Two options:
a) On the homepage, at the top right, you have the option to register yourself by clicking on the “Customer Login” button.
b) You can also set up a customer login during each booking process by selecting “I want to register” in the first query for personal data during the payment process and registering as an individual or a company.
From now on, you can log in to your profile at this point with each new booking, and the system will record your climate protection contribution under your customer data!

Can I save flights and offset them later?
Yes, the customer account includes a personal watchlist feature. After entering the relevant data into the flight emission calculator and the bookings appear in the shopping cart, you can save the flights to the watchlist by clicking on the “Add to Watchlist” button. The watchlist is then located in the right menu bar. The flights saved in it can be compensated at any time, or you can add more flights. There is also the option to individually name the bookings with a keyword.
Can I make a donation without flying?
If you would like to support atmosfair’s work without having flown yourself, you can also support atmosfair’s climate protection projects directly without offsetting anything. On our website you will find the options “Reduce a desired amount of CO₂” and “Donate” for this purpose.
How can I pay?
For the payment of the climate protection contribution, you can use the following payment methods:

Can I deduct my contribution to atmosfair from my taxes?
Yes. atmosfair is a non-profit limited liability company (gGmbH). This means that climate protection contributions are tax deductible. For payments under €300, the bank transfer receipt or corresponding bank statement is sufficient for the tax office. For higher amounts, you will need a donation receipt, which you will receive for every contribution to atmosfair from us. However, the donation receipts are only valid for submission to German tax offices
How do I get a donation receipt?
You will receive the donation receipt by email after each contribution to atmosfair.
If you have a customer account, the donation receipt will be available for one-time download after the secure payment is received. If you do not download the donation receipt, you will receive a consolidated donation receipt by email in the first quarter of the year following the donation, listing all atmosfair contributions made during the year.
If you do not have a customer account, you will receive the donation receipt by email after each individual contribution to atmosfair, once the secure payment is received.
If you have transferred your climate protection contribution directly to our account, please refer to the section: ‘How do I get a certificate and a donation receipt if I have not donated online through the atmosfair website?’… For amounts up to €300, the tax office even accepts the bank-stamped payment receipt attached to the transfer form or the corresponding bank statement.
How do I get a certificate and a donation receipt if I have not donated online through the atmosfair website?
Payments made directly to our donation account can also be claimed as tax-deductible donations.
a) For donations under €300, the bank statement is sufficient.
b) To create your donation receipt for donations over €300, we need your address. If we do not have your address on file, please contact us two weeks after your transfer, or later (info@atmosfair.de), so that we can create your donation receipt and certificate for you.
In whose name will the donation receipt be issued?
The donation receipt must be issued to exactly one legal entity (individual or company). Since you can use the bank statement as proof of donation for donations under €300, we are obligated to issue the donation receipt in the name of the account holder.
For donations of €300 or more, the donor does not need to be the same as the account holder, but the name of the donor must be clearly specified at the time of booking. For reasons pertaining to tax law, it is unfortunately not possible to change this afterwards.
As of when will the donation receipt be available to me?
You will receive your donation receipt(s) no later than eight weeks after payment, depending on the payment method.

How many times can I retrieve my donation receipt?
You can retrieve each receipt three times in case you misplace a PDF that has already been downloaded. At the time of the second and third retrieval, the donation receipt will be labelled “second copy” or “third copy” for reasons pertaining to tax law; however, this has no effect on its validity.
I cannot download my donation receipt from the customer centre. What am I doing wrong?
“I cannot log in”
The customer centre requires you to enter your name exactly as you did when the donation was made. For company names, additions can be easily added or forgotten. Looking at the atmosfair notification e-mail is helpful. The AX booking number is also included here and must also be entered in order to log in.
“I was able to log in, but I cannot create the donation receipt”
Bookings must be marked as “secure” in order for atmosfair to issue the donation receipt to you. Check your bank statements to see if the money was really deducted from your account and ensure that at least 8 weeks have passed since then. This waiting period is based on the fact that we must wait until the donation is securely deposited into our account before we can issue the donation receipt for you. This is based on the fact, that as a contributor, you have that amount of time to call in the money through your bank or credit institution. In rare cases, our system does not successfully allocate the booking. If this is the case, please contact us with the necessary information (donation date, donation amount, AX number). For this, please use the address info@atmosfair.de.
How can I subscribe to donate to climate protection regularly?
Under “Subscribe to donate to climate protection regularly” you can set up a monthly, quarterly, or biannual donation. In doing so, the donation amount you specified will be automatically donated to atmosfair. At the end of the year, you will receive a consolidated donation receipt. The prerequisite for this is that you do not download the individual donation receipts that you receive after each donation, as they will not appear on the consolidated donation receipt.
Can I modify my climate protection subscription?
No, unfortunately, due to technical reasons, we cannot make changes to existing climate protection subscriptions. Therefore, it is not possible to change the amount of the climate protection contribution or the bank details of an existing climate protection subscription. In this case, we ask you to cancel the existing climate protection subscription and to create a new climate protection subscription, taking into account the desired adjustments.
How can I cancel my climate protection subscription?
You can cancel the climate protection subscription at any time through your customer account under the ‘Climate Protection Subscriptions’ tab with immediate effect.
It is also possible to pause an existing subscription and resume it at a later date.
